I Want To Be Like My Dad

Written by Author Midori Miller – A Poem dedicated and inspired by the bond my grandson enjoys with his dad.
I want to be like my dad when I grow up.
Play the guitar, work and own a pup.
My dad is teaching me how to fish.
Reeling a big one is my biggest wish.
He taught me how to ride a bike.
We like to tell jokes when we hike.
My dad is patient and he is so kind.
When I make a mistake he doesn’t mind.
He says mistakes are part of life.
Watch your words son cuz they can cut like a knife.
My dad likes to read with me.
It’s our time together to relax and be.
He says it’s important to have fun.
Son say your prayers when the day is done.
My dad does the dishes and washes the car.
Chores are like work and it will take you far.
He says being self sufficient is the way to be.
Depend on yourself and you are free.
My dad is the biggest kid you will meet.
He is big and can’t fit in my seat.
He tells me you are only as old as you feel.
Eat healthy, laugh a lot and treat others well.
My dad means the world to me.
When we are together..others see.
HE tells me he loves me everyday.
He shows me he loves in every way.
When I grow up I want to be just like my dad.
My childhood was the best, any kid could have.
